About Mushroom Extracts
Mushroom Extracts compares Lion's Mane and Reishi supplements on the evidence, not on marketing.
The mushroom supplement market has little independent oversight. Labels are inconsistent, "polysaccharide" numbers are easy to misread, and certificates of analysis are often missing or hard to interpret. We exist to give shoppers a plain-English way to tell a well-made extract from a diluted one.
What we do
We review products against the same published criteria every time: the species and the part of the mushroom used, the extraction method, documented beta-glucan testing, certificate of analysis availability, and price per labeled serving. We explain what each of these means so you can apply the same checks yourself. Our methodology page describes exactly how we score, and our buyer's guide walks through reading a label and a COA.
How rankings are decided
- We accept no sponsored placements and no paid rankings.
- We score every product against the same criteria, published in advance.
- When we link to a product and have any connection to it, we say so.
- We describe our review standards rather than individual contributors, so the criteria, not personalities, carry the work.
What we are careful about
We write about structure and function, not disease. We do not claim any supplement diagnoses, treats, cures, or prevents a condition. We do not publish a lab number, a beta-glucan or triterpene figure, or a study result we cannot source. Where a comparison claim cannot be verified against a current document, we label it as not verified rather than state it as fact.
